Today, he continues to actively compete at master’s level events, consistently securing medals both domestically and internationally. Beyond his personal achievements in competition, Reg’s influence extends significantly into the broader rowing community. He dedicates his time to coaching junior and developmental athletes, mentoring countless rowers to success at the national level, all driven by a desire to provide excellent equipment to those who share his profound love for the sport.

Boyd Lyttle

Boyd’s profound understanding of rowing is rooted in decades of engagement with the sport, culminating in his establishment of his boat repair and refurbishing company Confido Racing Ltd in 2008. His early passion for rowing led him to coaching roles at prestigious institutions, including Head Coach positions at Keble College Oxford and New College Oxford Women’s in the late 1990s, where he guided athletes to develop their potential. Beyond the water, Boyd’s career uniquely blends his extensive rowing knowledge with a deep expertise in composites. This is exemplified by his significant contributions to two prominent boat companies: serving as General Manager at Resolute Racing Shells in the USA and later as Research and Design Manager at Janousek Racing Boats. This invaluable experience, coupled with his background in high-performance motorsport composites, has been instrumental in making Confido Racing the United Kingdom’s leading rowing boat repair company. Ultimately, Boyd’s comprehensive experience across coaching, boat manufacturing, and repair ensures unparalleled expertise in every aspect of the rowing journey.
