Reg’s lifelong commitment to rowing is evidenced by nearly half a century of involvement in the sport—a journey that began with early success as a junior and elite club rower.

Throughout his extensive competitive career, Reg has achieved numerous medals at national competitions, alongside countless victories on the domestic regatta circuit. His enthusiasm and passion for rowing have remained undiminished, and he continues to compete actively at Masters level, consistently achieving medal-winning performances at both domestic and international events.

Beyond his own achievements on the water, Reg’s influence extends far into the wider rowing community. He has dedicated countless hours to coaching junior and developing athletes, sharing his experience and knowledge and helping numerous rowers progress to success at national level.

This commitment is driven by a genuine desire to support the sport he loves and, in particular, to ensure that rowers of all ages and abilities have access to high-quality equipment that enables them to perform at their best.

Reg’s contribution to rowing and to his community was formally recognised when he was named a Coronation Champion, receiving the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution and dedication to others.

For Reg, however, the recognition is simply a reflection of what has always motivated him: a lifelong passion for rowing and a desire to help others enjoy, develop and succeed in the sport he loves.

Boyd Lyttle

Boyd’s profound understanding of rowing is rooted in decades of engagement with the sport, culminating in his establishment of his boat repair and refurbishing company Confido Racing Ltd in 2008.

His early passion for rowing led him to coaching roles at prestigious institutions, including Head Coach positions at Keble College Oxford and New College Oxford Women’s in the late 1990s, where he guided athletes to develop their potential.

Beyond the water, Boyd’s career uniquely blends his extensive rowing knowledge with a deep expertise in composites. This is exemplified by his significant contributions to two prominent boat companies: serving as General Manager at Resolute Racing Shells in the USA and later as Research and Design Manager at Janousek Racing Boats.

This invaluable experience, coupled with his background in high-performance motorsport composites, has been instrumental in making Confido Racing the United Kingdom’s leading rowing boat repair company. Ultimately, Boyd’s comprehensive experience across coaching, boat manufacturing, and repair ensures unparalleled expertise in every aspect of the rowing journey.
